Well that didn't take long at all... really. First day... already ripped the resources. Well... some of them. Anyways yeah I ripped files from the game... All images decrypted. All of that stuff. Just another day at the office.
Something I want to say first off...
A note for certain stubborn, ignorant, and stupid people (You know if I'm talking to you) who claim that I just rip the IPA and slap it on the internet... I DO NOT EXTRACT IPA CONTENTS. Actually I don't even touch the IPA files. I install the game on my iPhone 4S and take the data from that, including the DATA files (Sound Effects, Music, and most images) which are NOT in the IPA. These are downloaded when you launch the game. Also note that most PNG files appear as nothing outside of the game. Apple PNG is a special format. My Rips contain the PNGs converted back into the universal format from Apple PNG. The conversions were done directly on the iPhone 4S. I put effort into ripping these game files and I don't shortcut it by just copying out of the IPA. If you think I do then go on and try ripping from the IPA. You'll only get the useless Apple PNG files. Good day.

To open these, get the audio editing program Audacity. Drag the ".data" files in and export to any format you like... Including MP3, OGG, FLAC, WAV, etc. They are lossless audio and sound effect rips. Either that or get the WAV rip. Please note that I did not do a FLAC rip because apparently the FLAC files are larger than the WAV files... Which is strange.

ReplyDelete2 ways, 1 certain to work, 1 should work but not confirmed:
DeleteMethod 1 (Guaranteed but yet harder way): Get a Japanese iTunes account and look up either "ロックマン" or "Rockman" on iTunes. When you download it, simply drag it from iTunes "Apps" section to your iDevice.
Method 2 (Should work... but not confirmed): Download the IPA from my page directly. To make it easier, the link is https://www.box.com/s/d6zx7dsjh99ausn049yf . Afterwards, copy that IPA over to "C:\Users\%Username%\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications". Open iTunes, it should appear in the "Apps" section. Drag it over to the iOS Device and it should install properly. It should look like this: http://i.imgur.com/pHpy9fe.png

method one are mentioned before on iphone pandaapp site, method two shows up on iTunes but i cannot install it to my device because dont have the right authorize for the app.
DeleteAny other trick to install this ? i have tried to change the permission as well using SSH but still failed. It appear on my springboard but crash and back to springboard when open the app.

ReplyDeleteThe game is simply updated from inside the app. Just let it do it's thing and then you should be able to play.

ReplyDeleteNot having any luck with Audacity, the sound effects work fine, but the music come out overly loud and 'fuzzy' sounding. Got any idea how to fix that or any alternative programs that could be used?
ReplyDeleteHm... interesting. The reason why it's doing that is because the files are compressed. AIFF apparently. I'll convert them and upload for convenience of everyone but you can easily convert it by renaming the extension to .aif and converting with another third-party software.

ReplyDeleteロックマンXover 1.14 updated on Blog. Complete Rip (Converted PNGs), IPA File, and DATA Rip all uploaded. WAV though will take some processing sadly but I'll work on it. :) (You can convert DATA to WAV via iTunes actually or Audacity. It's lossless and heavily compressed AIFF data).

ReplyDeleteI would usually get apps via either iTunes downloading them or through a site offering the IPA. Since a vast majority of the sites would offer the English IPA, it's a little difficult to get the Japanese one (Not to mention googling "ロックマンX ipa download" links to this blog post so it isn't exactly going to work out). To obtain legally: What you need to do is make a Japanese iTunes account. You should be able to access it directly from the iTunes Store afterwards. Then pay with the Japanese currency ¥. I haven't made purchases so I can't really help beyond that. D: (Paypal offers a currency converter from USD to JPY so if you have $4.89 or more at this current moment, it'll suffice.)
